The Card Reader application ("Application") is a mobile application that helps you digitize contact information by reading NFC cards and business cards. This privacy policy explains the application's data collection and usage practices.

2. Data Collected

2.1. Locally Stored Data

The application stores the following data only locally on your device:

• Contact Information: Name, phone number, email address, company information, address, and profile photos
• NFC Card Data: UID and vCard information read from NFC cards
• Business Card Images: Photos taken or selected from business cards
• OCR Results: Text information extracted from business cards

2.2. Permissions

The application may request the following permissions:

• NFC Access: To read NFC cards
• Camera Access: To take business card photos
• Gallery Access: To select existing photos
• Contacts Access: To add contacts to device address book (optional)
• File Access: To import/export VCF and CSV files

3. Data Usage

3.1. Local Processing

All data is processed and stored only on your device. Your data:

• Is never sent to any server
• Is not shared with third parties
• Is not used for advertising or marketing purposes
• Is not used for analytics or tracking

3.2. OCR Processing

Text extraction (OCR) from business cards:

• Is performed locally on your device (Google ML Kit Text Recognition)
• When the optional 'text recognition and content extraction' feature in the application is used, text extracted from the image is transmitted to the server over a secure connection. On the server, information is automatically interpreted using text processing technologies (OCR and AI-assisted analysis) and results are sent back to the application

4. Data Security

The application takes the following measures to protect your data:

• All data is stored unencrypted in SQLite database on your device
• Data is only accessible within the application
• The application does not require internet connection (except optional text recognition and content extraction feature)
• Your data is never uploaded to any cloud service

5. Data Sharing

The application does not share your data with third parties. However:

• Contacts Integration: You can optionally add contacts to your device address book
• File Sharing: You can use your device's sharing features to share VCF or CSV files
• Text Recognition and Content Extraction: When the optional 'text recognition and content extraction' feature in the application is used, text extracted from the image is transmitted to the server over a secure connection. On the server, information is automatically interpreted using text processing technologies (OCR and AI-assisted analysis) and results are sent back to the application

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

• You can delete contacts individually or in bulk from within the application
• When you uninstall the application from your device, all data is deleted
• Since data is only stored on your device, uninstalling the app permanently deletes all your data

7. Children's Privacy

The application does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child, we will immediately delete that information.

8. Third-Party Services

8.1. Google ML Kit

The application uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition for OCR processing. This service is subject to Google's privacy policy. Text recognition is performed entirely locally.

8.2. Text Recognition and Content Extraction (Optional)

When the optional 'text recognition and content extraction' feature in the application is used, text extracted from the image is transmitted to the server over a secure connection. On the server, information is automatically interpreted using text processing technologies (OCR and AI-assisted analysis) and results are sent back to the application. The privacy policy of this service is determined by the service provider.

9. Privacy Policy Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When significant changes are made, we will send a notification within the application. By continuing to use the application after changes take effect, you accept the changes.
